Sunny Skies and Staying Active

Lockdown can feel a little upsetting sometimes. Don't feel bad if being stuck at home and watching the walls has been bringing you down, I promise you're not alone. After sitting in be all day, bookmarking all those home workout videos, and then eventually forgetting about them, I understand that you might be starting to  feel a little sluggish and slow. I certainly am.

But sunny days are ahead of us! And I mean this both literally and figuratively. With the prospect of lockdown restrictions being eased and the weather no longer looking so bleak, now might be the perfect time in our quarantine adventures to go outside and take a nice walk. Of course, it goes without saying that this means taking all the necessary precautions: practising social distancing, wearing a face mask, avoiding crowded places, and the like. It's also important to make sure that physical activity outdoors is permitted where you live. If you've ticked those boxes, then there's nothing stopping you from getting some sweet sunlight and finally working on that tan.

Exercise is not only good for our physical health, but also our mental well-being. Being cooped up indoors in the midst of a global pandemic isn't something any of us thought we'd be doing this year, and it can easily make us forget about some things that makes life so beautiful and exciting. That's why it's so important, now more than ever, to spend some time outdoors when you can. Try to see if you can hear birsong during your walk, or smell damp grass, or see flowers in full bloom, all while breathing in fresh air and basking in the warmth of the sun.

It's a good reminder that after the winter always comes spring, and hope shines through whatever the circumstances. Sunny days are ahead of us. Kapit lang, kaibigan!
